
Dr. Ahmed Ali Abdel-Hafez, Vice President for Cyber Security Affair, NTRA
Dr. Ahmed is currently the Vice President for Cyber Security Affair at the NTRA. He has more than 32 years of experience in the field of Telecommunication Systems, he is Certified as a Consultant in Information Security Systems Since 2013 (Engineering Syndicate of Egypt) and was responsible for establishing and developing the Cryptography Research Center (CRC) (Egyptian MOD) including the management, supervision, and capacity building of center staff, and became a Head of the Center for 8 years whereby led the design, development of a National Encryption Algorithm, and production of different cryptosystems for the defense and governmental sectors. Dr. Ahmed chairs the Executive Bureau of The Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council as well as a prime member of the Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council. Dr. Ahmed has been awarded with the Second-Class Order of the Republic by the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, (in 2020) for his significant and distinguished contributions.

Samir Gaber received his PhD from department of electronic and electrical engineering, University College London (UCL), UK, 2010. He was honorary lecturer in department of electronic and electrical engineering, University College London (UCL), UK, from 2014 to 2019. Since 2011, he is the head of department of cyber-attacks monitoring and early warning system, Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT), Egypt. Samir was assistant professor in electronics, communications, and computer engineering department, Helwan University, Egypt, from 2011 to 2018. Since 2018, he is associate professor in electronics, communications, and computer engineering department, Helwan University, Egypt. From 2010 to 2014, he was honorary research associate in department of electronic and electrical engineering, University College London (UCL), UK. Since 2022, Samir is vice president of study group 17 (ITU-SG17), security group, international telecommunication Union (ITU), UN, Geneva, Switzerland.

Eng. Abeer Khedr, Head of Cybersecurity – National Bank of Egypt, Chair of the Cybersecurity Committee – Federation of Egyptian Banks
Abeer Khedr is the Head of Cyber Security at the National Bank of Egypt with more than 25 years of experience in technology and information security fields. She has been also appointed by the board of the Federation of Egyptian Banks to be the first Chair of the Federation’s Cyber Security Committee established in July 2021. Abeer is an experienced Chief Information Security Officer. She has established the information security strategy & program at the National Bank of Egypt, designed and maintained an information security management system (ISMS) for the bank’s data centers, call centers and digital branches which got certified by BSI in 2016, 2017 & 2020 respectively.
